Waiting List Support Service (WLSS)
If you are currently on a waiting list for treatment, the Waiting List Support Service (WLSS) can provide support, information and guidance to help you stay well while you wait. We can:
- Review your individual situation and discuss any support that may help improve your quality of life and independence.
- Support you to take control of your condition while you are waiting for treatment.
- Provide reassurance and advice on what to do if your symptoms deteriorate.
- Help with referrals to other Health Board services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, the Expert Patient Programme, specialist nurses and smoking cessation.
- Help with referrals to community services such as Care and Repair, Delta Wellbeing or Dewis Cymru.
Preparing for Treatment
If you are waiting for surgery or treatment, preparing effectively can make a significant difference to your treatment experience and recovery. Making a small number of changes can positively affect the way your body responds.

The waiting time information available online is intended only as a general guide. It cannot tell you your personal position on the waiting list. It reflects end-of-month data for your Local Health Board. Please bear in mind:
- Your care is based on your individual clinical need.
- Patients with more urgent clinical needs will have shorter waiting times.
- Waiting times vary by specialty and hospital location, and the NHS continues to work to improve them.
To help you stay well while you wait, you can visit the Live Well and Health A-Z pages on the NHS 111 Wales website.
Some specialties with fewer than 200 patient pathways waiting will not be reported in the online data.
